Taste of Soul: Plant based & Vegan Cuisine

I eat at Taste of Soul 2 to 4 times a week and have been doing so for the past year and a half and it never gets old. The food is always fresh and very tasty and most of all Chef Jarae gives very hefty portions of food. It's very filling as well as fulfilling!!

Food that NEVER disappoints. You know that food that you can’t wait to get to that only your mama can make to satisfy that need of a home cooked meal. This is exactly what you get from Taste of Vegan. The macaroni is creamy, the green beans seasoned, to ribz tender and flavorful and the peach cobbler perfect sweetness. I’ve provided a before and after picture.

These is my second time eating here. I was fasting and need to find good healthy food. The first time I had the housemade burger. The second time I had the Grilled Chick’n - grilled chick’n over rice with black eye peas with a side of mac and cheese . Both entrees were so delicious. I can’t believe the taste of the chick’n ! So freaking good. The burger was good also . This is the best vegan food I’ve tasted in Charlotte so far .

Incredible food and amazing service! My food was missing the chicken I paid extra for and before I even noticed the server came and apologized, brought a whole new plate with the chicken, and let me keep the first one. I expected good food but the exceptional service was delightful! The ribs and rasta pasta were my favorites.

There is so many wonderful things to say about this place. For one it’s black owned, the food is incredible, the couple is so sweet. The wife is so tiny and cute, and every encounter we’ve had she was absolutely pleasant. The prices are steep but, I think everything I ate was worth it. All natural plant based products cost more anyways, just as it should. I came multiple days, and ordered multiple things just so I can experience the whole menu. My favorite is the macaroni! It’s tasty, it’s creamy, it even resembles craft macaroni & cheese. The sweet potato corn bread is good, the mushrooms and gravy chefs kiss! The baked beans are my favorite as well. The ribs were incredible they literally imitated a rib. The sliders are good, the Philly cheesesteak JUST WOW! The sausage soup to die for, it even came with grilled cheese. How I know the food was excellent my kids are not vegan how I am, and they ate with me. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the jackfruit I ordered. It’s NOT nasty, just anywhere I go I don’t like it. I can’t get the image of the way it looks out my head, from the can lol. I also tried the bbq wings, NOT nasty, it wasn’t for me. I think I would have eaten it if I got it plain. This woman made magic happen, as if she was someone’s grandmother in the kitchen. The food is so good it should have just been called “gifted hands”. This was such a great experience, and some of the best quality plant based food I’ve tasted in Charlotte NC. My usual is “Love & Action” but this will be my new go to. The best part is she’s friendly, if you smile she smiles. She also took the time to speak to me briefly even being a busy owner. I love it, it’s worth ten stars to me, the prices could go up again and I would still purchase. This is a little gem, and I hope it keeps getting better and Allah blesses them with everything there hearts desire Photos are below, some things never made it on camera because I either ate to fast, or brought it for someone else Uzuri.

Me and my husband enjoyed this food soooo much! Simply delicious! Best vegan food I’ve had in a while and following a plant based diet it is so nice to have flavorful food that reminds you of old favorites. I had the ribz, mac and corn and hubby had the same but instead of corn he had the baked beans which he also enjoyed! Oh and that sweet potato cornbread was dessert! Wished we could have tried the peach cobbler but they were sold out which lets me know that is good too! Please open up a spot in Atlanta or maybe not because I’d be there every day, definitely will be back on our next trip!

I love this place a lot, it’s very culturally considerate with the variety of meals they offer at the restaurant and it’s really good for all of it to be in support of people with vegan diets and way of eating. They’ve never missed with me, and I know it’s because of the standard they hold themselves to and it’ll always keep me coming back. One of the top 3 best vegan spots in CLT in my opinion. 3 Garjo

So we are vegans and love to try new vegan places, came across this vegan and Oh My Goodness! My husband said out of all the burgers he had so far, this is the BEST one. The Mac n Cheese hits every flavor you would want. We also had the Soul Bowl and it was good too, good amount of protein and flavors, lots of veggies. Another best thing is the Peach Cobbler desserts, man it’s addictive. We would definitely come back to try other options soon.
